Anytime Meal

One of our recent favorites is a modified breakfast burrito/quesadilla. It's quick and super easy.

Scrabbled eggs and shredded cheese (we use cheddar)
wrap it in your favorite tortilla
VOILA- instant, protein rich, nutritious, anytime food for the entire family.
Of course it tastes even better on a Cars plate =)
Even my "carb man" Jackson eats them =)
2 year old Owen begs for them. Yes, I know he looks annoyed here... that's just Owen.
mmmmmmmmm

a GREAT day

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays... celebrating our independence, the military, family, food, and don't forget the fireworks! I love it!

This year it's extra special because LANCE IS BACK BABY!
the Tour de France stage 1 starts today - woot woot!
This is what my TV will be tuned into for the next 3 weeks... we are tour fanatics =)

We've even convinced Jackson that in order to ride "duper duper fast" like Lance he must eat lots and lots of veggies, ha ha.

Any Day Now

I've been having a lot of pre-labor signs and a few "false alarms" over the past week. I actually warned my doula twice and I've never done that before. Last two babies I just called her when labor was underway. My doctor visit this morning had these results:

  • 80% effaced (wow!)
  • Bulging bag of waters (um, ya, he's way down there!)
  • Lost a pound
  • 1 1/2 cm dilated
  • Doc says, "OH, you're on thin ice. I don't think you'll make it to your appointment next week, so drink lots of water, and get some sleep! Make sure your husband is on board and ready (he knew Mike was in denial about it being soon) and call me. It might be the next couple of days. The baby's position is perfect and ready to go and he is very low. Now what are we doing for birth control?" Ha ha. I love doctor Langford!
Everyone is now on stand-bye and the cat is acting really weird...she won't leave me alone. I'm drinking SmartWater like crazy and hoping he stays in (legs crossed!) until Monday. I bought Mike's father's day gift and the boys' hospital gifts today, just in case.

Gavin Edward Baker is coming any day now =)

Proof

I have proof that the Lord loves me
It's called June Gloom
and even a cool mist!
We've had an unusually cool May/June this year and I'm lovin' it. At 9 months + pregnant I'm HOT all the time. The Lord has had mercy on my sleepless soul and blessed me with fabulous weather. Pretty soon it'll be 95+ degrees and there will be no escaping the sun...so for right now, I'm thankful for the gloom =)

Natural Born?

In a Seattle Washington college classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States . It was pretty simple - the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president. The class was taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating,

'What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?'

Yep, these are the 18 year olds that just voted for the President of the United States...

6am Inspiration

My boys were inspired by their cousins' musical post and decided to make their own video.
Lucky for us it was at 6am.

video

This was my exact comment to her post:
"CUTE. So obedient of Chloe not to rip the microphone out of Nenna's hands! she even had her little hands folded. What a good little sister...Owen would've been temper tantruming, crying, biting and ripping. For reals. No Joke. We have one of those! Now Jackson wants to watch the video =)"

video

The actual videos of them singing ABC's and such wouldn't upload. But you get the drift!

Spoiled

That's me! I got spoiled by one of my lovely patients at work today. She gave me the entire Baby Arbonne line gift set! I always wanted to use these products for my first two boys but couldn't afford them - or rationalize affording them.

They are not tested on animals, vegan, partly organic, and botanical. I obviously don't use the baby products on myself, but I have tried a hand lotion and it has to be the greatest smelling and feeling hand lotion ever. I love Arbonne!

Tot Clock

I ordered this Tot Clock this morning from Amazon. Hopefully it helps the 4 am madness that is my 2 year old. For 2 weeks straight he has woken up at 4:45 am - yes, for the day. It should be illegal, I know. How do you talk sense into a 2 year old? Can you force someone to sleep more? Not this child. This morning it was 4:35am and I've had enough!!!!

A very tired mommy's prayer: Please Lord Jesus have mercy on our sleep deprived souls. Let this clock help Owen learn to stay in bed until 6am... and please please please let Gavin be as good a sleeper as Jackson. AMEN.
